While many students in the area are preparing for final exams, Christmas break and basketball games, five students at West Central Valley High School are taking on a large project over the next couple weeks as part of the Future Business Leaders of America’s program, lead4change. Business instructor Elaine Ware explains the details of the student-led project.
“The students thought that the biggest problem in our society at the moment, particularly as a result of COVID, is the fact that we have people going hungry in our society. With Christmas coming up, they didn’t want people in the community to be hungry, so they decided this would be a great opportunity to start a business and see what they could do to help their own community.”
The food drive will run December 15th through the 21st. Donations can be dropped off at the high school office, with proceeds to go to the Stuart Cottage Pantry.
