The Stuart Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon cutting at noon Monday for Nikki’s Nickel Redemption at 120 NW 2nd Street. Owner Joyce Rasmussen says, it’s a chance to open a business back in her home community.
“I love the Stuart people. They’re so supportive and so nice. And they need it down there. That’s what kind of makes you feel good that they need it and they want it, so they’re all very supportive of helping support us. We’re looking forward to Monday for the ribbon cutting ceremony. We’ll have cookies and bottled water, and everybody can have a cookie.”
Rasmussen opened her original Nikki’s location in Jefferson in August because a location wasn’t available in Stuart at the time. The business is named after Joyce’s 19-year old daughter Nicole, who has Down’s Syndrome.
