LifeServe Blood Center is looking for individuals who have recovered from the Coronavirus to donate convalescent plasma to meet the needs of local hospitals.

Danielle West, the director of marketing and public relations with LifeServe, expects the need for plasma to double in a matter of weeks. She says that while plasma collected at a paid plasma center would be used for pharmaceutical use, the collections they make at community blood centers will be given to local hospital patients..

People who have tested positive for COVID-19 or the antibodies for the virus are eligible to donate. Individuals who never received a positive confirmation may be eligible and need only complete an assessment at lifeservebloodcenter.org to determine eligibility. All donors receive an antibody test as part of the regular donation process.

Anyone interested in donation can set up an appointment online at lifeservebloodcenter.org.
