The Perry City Council approved an amendment to the Urban Renewal Plan during their regular council meeting Tuesday night. 

The Council approved the amendment to the urban renewal plan which will allow for additional renewal projects to be undertaken and financed with incremental tax revenues. The two proposed projects are for a 28th Street Improvement Project with TIF revenue, estimated $277,525, and 2020 Downtown Streets Improvement Project with TIF revenues, estimated $1,138,212.50

Additionally, the Council approved a permanent, 10-foot, utility easement on Lots 1,2,3,4, and 7 of the Bluejay addition. This will allow for services such as electric to be administered and the possibility for future services as well. 

The Perry City Council approved appointing Perry Police Chief Eric Vaughn and Perry Fire Chief Chris Hinds as members to the 2021 Dallas County 911 Service Board. The Council approved the application of Gary Iles’s to the fire department and reinstating Kevin McLaughlin as Deputy Fire Chief. 

The Council approved the 28E agreement for mutual aid to provide mutual aid to neighboring and local communities and adjoining counties.

The Council approved to set the publications including the Perry Chief, Dallas County News and Des Moines Register that will be used to publish official publications and notices, setting the time and date for Council meetings that conflict with holidays and appointment for various city positions including, city clerk-Elizabeth Hix, city finance officer-Susie Moorhead, city attorney-DuWayne Dalen, police chief- Eric Vaughn and fire chief-Chris Hinds. 

Finally, the Council approved the appointments for various positions and committees and for compliance officers.
