Friday, December 4th

7:17am: Everett Beebe reported an Abandoned Bicycle at 206 North Olive Street. The officer placed the bike in the Impound Lot.

9:02am: Officers and the Fire Chief assisted the Code Enforcement Officer in executing an Administrative Search Warrant at 112 South Wilson Ave. The warrant was to gain access to the building to determine the condition of the property.

10:09am: An officer conducted a Welfare Check on a female at Park Ave. South Condo’s after dispatch received a 911 Hang Up Call from the subject. It was determined she was fine and had accidentally dialed 911. No assistance was needed.

2:44pm: Officers were advised of the smell of Natural Gas in the 500 Block of East Garfield Street. Alliant Energy arrived and took care of the issue.

3:10pm: Kyle Rysavy reported Stolen Property from 708 West Harrison Street. Women’s clothing and a ring were missing. The officer is investigating.

4:30pm: Caitlyn Cannon reported a cat with blood all over it near Pinet and Harrison Streets. The officers did not locate the reported animal.

5:54pm: Bret Cranston reported he nearly struck a pedestrian walking in the roadway in the 1600 Block of North Elm Street. The officers did not locate the subject.

6:30pm: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 500 Block of North Olive Street.

Saturday, December 5th

3:48am: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 800 Block of West South Street.

10:40am: Public Works requested an officer at Elm and Central Ave. for a fire hydrant being struck by an unknown vehicle. The officer reviewed video from area business, but did not see a suspect vehicle. The officer is still investigating.

10:44am: Vickie Williams requested an officer at 905 West Lincoln Way Street for her adult son, who was tearing up her property. The officer arrived and made contact with the male subject. During the event, the suspect used a lit cigarette to burn the officer’s wrist. Keegan Wayne Williams, 24 of Jefferson was arrested for, “Criminal Mischief 4th Degree – Serious and Interference with Official Acts – Simple.”

6:00pm: Hy Vee reported the Theft of Groceries from 106 West Washington Street. The business provided video of the reported event to the officer. The officer has requested an Arrest Warrant for Jennifer M. Ashby, 48 of Jefferson for, “Theft 5 th Degree – Simple.”

6:56pm: A caller advised of an Erratic Driver near 220th and Gallop Road. The officers did not locate the reported vehicle.

8:04pm: Bob Hurley reported smelling smoke in the area of the 200 Block of North Wilson Ave. The officers went to the area and determined a local business was roasting coffee beans, causing the smell in the area.

9:11pm: A caller advised of two juveniles attempting to break in at 218 East Lincoln Way Street. The officers made contact with the two, who advised they had been instructed by the owner of the business to shut off the lights and were not breaking in.

Sunday, December 6th

9:49am: An officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with a Medical Call at 1502 235th Street.

1:08pm: Janice Napolitano requested an officer at 1201 West Lincoln Way for reported past issues with a neighbor’s dog. She reported nothing was occurring at this time. The officer was busy and did not immediately respond. Napolitano became upset waiting and called back and advised she no longer wished to speak to the officer.

8:38pm: Officers were called to 607 West South Street for a Domestic Argument occurring there. The officers spoke to both parties and worked to diffuse the issues. The male left the residence for the evening on his own free will.

Monday, December 7th

3:50am: A Traffic Stop at Wilson and Lincoln Way resulted in Thomas Patrick of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”

5:34am: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 100 Block of South Grimmell Road.

7:12am: A caller advised of subjects banging on the windows of her neighbor’s residence at 402 West Russell Street. The officers arrived and located no one in the area.

12:27pm: Officers are working to contact the owner of a vehicle parked in the street near Walnut and Washington Streets. The vehicle is in violation of parking ordinances and needs removed from the street.

12:36pm: An officer was contacted about a possible Burglary at 301 ½ East Lincoln Way Street. The officer advised the complainant to have the occupant contact officers, as he needs to file the complaint.

12:39pm: Mitchell Rainey reported a Stray Dog in the 300 Block of South Walnut Street. The officers did not locate the reported animal.

2:20pm: Brenda Batschelet reported a possible Harassment towards her. The officer is investigating.

5:12pm: A caller advised on an Abandoned Bicycle in the 800 Block of West State Street. The officer placed the bike in the Impound Lot.

8:59pm: During a Traffic Stop at 220th and M Ave. the officer learned the driver had an Active Arrest Warrant out of Boone County. After confirming the warrant was valid, the officer arrested Shawn Richard Knudsen, 29 of Urbandale and transported hi the LEC to be picked up by Boone County.
