The first road trip of the young high school basketball season is on tap tonight for the Greene County Rams. The girls and boys go to Jewell to face South Hamilton in a girl/boy doubleheader broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins around 5:40 p.m. with tipoff at 6 o’clock for the girls and the boys will follow.
Greene County opened the girls’ season on Saturday at home in the brand new high school gym with a 49-26 victory over Ogden. Junior Brianna Habben went 11 for 15 from the floor and scored a career best 28 points, two more than the entire Ogden team. SH is 0-3 on the season and is being out scored by 20 points per game in the early going.
The SH boys are 2-0 while the Greene County boys are 0-1 after losing at home on Saturday to Ogden, 58-50. Coach Chris Nelson was missing five players, including three starters, for that game. He’s hoping to get one or two players back tonight, and possibly be a full strength in another week.
