The Dallas Center – Grimes Mustangs and Fillies had their Little Hawkeye Conference opener on Friday night, and were able to get the sweep in both games, with the girls winning 71-22, and the boys winning by the score of 59-29.
The Mustangs were able to get out of the gate quickly, outscoring the Indians by the score of 22-2 after one quarter of play, and led 43-16 at halftime. The Mustangs were able to get solid team ball all around, and got good performances out of senior Luke Rankin and junior Cole Glasgow. The boys start their first week off on a great note at 2-0.
The girls were able to continue their dominance historically over Oskaloosa, as they now move to 15-0 in the series based on data since 2014. The Fillies were able to get out to a quick start and lead 33-7 after a half of play, and never turned back.
Both teams will be looking for more success in the near future, and hope to build off of those good performances Friday night.
