adm-7

Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tiger basketball boys played their tails off on Friday night against one of the top teams in the Raccoon River Conference in the Ballard Bombers, but came up just short in overtime, falling by the score of 59-55. ADM played a great defensive game, and were locked in all night long, keeping one of the highest scoring teams in the state at bay most of the night. Sam Hlas was able to get a last second tip in at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime. The Tigers were able to get some big buckets in the frame, as Hlas and senior Grant Garton hit a couple of big threes. The Tigers were led by senior Ethan Juergens 18 points, including four threes on the night.

The girls fought hard in their game but came up short against number three Ballard 44-24. ADM only trailed by six at the half, and played a really good game throughout the night, but Ballard was too much at the end. ADM was able to get a solid game out of senior Grace Hardcastle, who made numerous plays for the Tigers on both the offensive and defensive ends.

The girls go to 2-2 on the season while the boys move to 0-2. The Tigers will be back home in Adel on Tuesday when they host new Raccoon River Conference foe in the Gilbert Tigers.
