Visit from Santa in 2020

About 25 people attended the annual Christmas Tree Lighting event at the Thomas Jefferson Gardens in Jefferson Thursday night.

The event included holiday music, along with Santa Claus on the rooftop of the Welcome Center to light the Christmas tree. Thomas Jefferson Gardens Board member and organizer Mary Weaver gave her overall impression of how the event went.

“This really turned out very well, and people were so eager to get out to try to be normal in this abnormal time with our COVID. We almost didn’t get to have Santa Claus, but we have an innovative board, and they said, ‘Let’s have Santa come on the roof.’ And so we did and it’s been great.”   

Weaver encourages everyone to participate in the Tag-a-Tree event. Write down a wish, along with your name and phone number, then if your wish is selected, you will win $25 in Chamber Checks. Deadline to submit a wish for the Tag-a-Tree is December 10th.
