One final renovation is nearing the end at the new Greene County Middle School in Jefferson.

Activities Director Todd Gordon says the gym is almost done. The floor has been installed and the 300 seat bleachers are currently being installed. He gives his impression of how that project looks overall.

“It looks beautiful. It’s basically a replica of the high school (gym) floor, just on a little bit smaller scale. It looks exactly the same, so that looks very nice.”

Gordon hopes that by the end of the governor’s public health emergency proclamation that currently prohibits middle school competitions until December 10th, that games will be allowed to take place and fans can come and see the facility. He adds, the new wrestling practice room still needs a floor to be installed and the mats to be put in place. Gordon is hoping by January 1st to be able to utilize that facility.
