With the fall soil judging contest cancelled and 2020-2021 convention dates to be determined, the Panorama FFA Chapter is still working on fall service projects and other happenings this semester.
Chapter President Claire Woodworth says their annual fruit, meat, and cheese sale went surprisingly well this fall, as they added Zipp’s Pizza to the items that the public could purchase online, “So that went pretty well and we also had kids who would have to be in quarantine so they couldn’t sell as much. So we had to be a little more lenient on when we could turn stuff in and all that stuff, but all in all, it went pretty well.”
A portion of the fundraiser’s proceeds will go to the chapter’s annual Meals for the Homefront service project in which they purchase food for 8-10 local families to make meals over winter break. The chapter also plans to hold their annual winter coat drive for the 3 C’s Closet in Panora this December as well. Woodworth mentions they’re also busy preparing their Career Development Events for the yet-to-be scheduled district convention, and have begun utilizing areas on the secondary building campus to plant, harvest, market, and sell hay crop this year.
