Little Big and Big Red Radios continue to roll through for the holidays collecting food and cash donations for the Caring Christmas Food Drive.

From 9 to 11 am on Friday,  the Little Big Red Radio will be at Greene County High School in Jefferson, sponsored by  New Cooperative and Greene County Community School District. Then the  Big Red Radio will be at Olson Body and Paint from 2-4 pm on Friday.

One way to donate food items is from the live remote broadcasts. All donations dropped off during the broadcasts will go to that respective community’s food pantry. Raccoon Valley Radio General Manager John McGee appreciates the teamwork that happens to bring needed food items to the local food pantries.

“It’s really a neat program. It has gone over extremely well through the years and we couldn’t do it without the listeners involvement, without our clients that are sponsoring it, and helping to make it happen. So we really appreciate everybody working together to help those in need and you know as well as i do this time of year, especially with the derecho especially with COVID that’s going on the need is so much greater.”

Two additional ways to donate are using a QR Code on your smartphone from any of the sponsors, “Table Toppers,” which is a contactless way to donate via Square, and by going to raccoonvalleyradio.com. Each time you donate, you will be entered into the Caring Christmas Cash Giveaway, with three $1,000 prizes. You can find more information about how to contribute here.
