The Perry Fire Department responded to two fire incidents at the same home Tuesday evening.

According to the Perry Police Dispatch, the first call came in around 7:30pm from a home in the 1700 block of Otley Avenue. Perry Fire and Police departments, along with Dallas County Emergency Medical Services and Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded. Perry Assistant Fire Chief Brian Eiteman said the damage was mostly contained to the porch area and a small portion of the home resulting in minimal damage overall with no injuries.

The fire department was then called back out to the home due to the fire starting back up around 11pm. Eiteman says the reason for the second call was due to some hot embers remaining around the porch and front entrance of the home. This resulted in the fire department removing some of the stucco to put the embers out. Eiteman adds the cause is undetermined but accidental in nature.
