Paton-Churdan began the 2020-21 high school girls’ basketball season with a 49-32 victory in Westside vs. Ar-We-Va. It was the Rolling Valley Conference as well as season opening game for Coach Tom Kennedy’s team.

Danielle Hoyle, a 6′ 3″ senior, and All-State player last season, led all scorers with 21 points. She made eight field goals and went five for seven from the free throw line. Senior Tessa Steimel also reached double figures for the Rockets with 13 points. Steimel made three goals from three-point range and the Rockets made six baskets on the night from beyond the arc.

The Rockets open the home portion of the schedule on Friday, Dec. 4 in Churdan vs. Glidden-Ralston as the first game of a girl/boy doubleheader.
