The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The Board reviewed and tabled approval of the insurance plans for the 2021 calendar year. The Board then approved a 3.5-percent increase in funding for the Guthrie County Library Association to $123,805 for the current fiscal year. It was mentioned during the meeting that the additional funding was supposed to be approved this past April but it wasn’t. The Board also approved the first meeting of 2021 to be on Monday, January 4th, and they will continue to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays through March. They also approved the final 50-percent appropriations for all county departments for the current fiscal year.

The Board heard an update from County Attorney Brenna Bird. She told the Board the County is close to achieving their collections threshold of $25,000 since the beginning of the fiscal year on July 1st. She also mentioned that all jury trials are delayed until February 1st and she talked extensively about holding hearings via electronically and other means due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Finally, the Board heard an update from County Human Resources Director Pam Lane. She reported about three new hires at the end of October with a nurse, public health employee and a part-time dispatcher. Lane also talked about employees being listed with the Families First Coronavirus Response Act if someone needed to be quarantined, isolated or have time-off due to COVID-19 reasons.
