The Greene County girls’ basketball team will not be opening the season on Friday vs. Roland-Story (Story City) as planned, but the boys will be. That’s because of circumstances on the Norsemen girls’ squad, according to Greene County Activities Director Todd Gordon. The girls vs. R-S has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 30 in Jefferson with JV at 1 p.m. and the varsity to follow.

Coach Chris Nelson’s Greene County boys will now host R-S on Friday at 6 p.m., or following the JV2 contest, which is set for 4:30 p.m. The varsity boys’ game will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Friday’s games will be the first for the Rams in basketball in the brand new high school gym.
