The Dallas County Board of Supervisors discussed changes on how death investigators will be paid now and in the future at their regular meeting Tuesday.

The Board approved to remove the on-call portion for death investigators which pays $25 per day while on-call to a minimum fee of five hours per death investigator scene and two hours minimum for non-scene investigations, with the hourly rate remaining the same. In the future, the Board plans to move death investigators to be a contracted position possibly at the beginning of the next fiscal year on July 1st.

In other business, the Board approved the purchase of two new vehicles for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.
