The Perry Chamber of Commerce’s new Christmas decoration contest is officially underway.

The Chamber had to cancel in-person festivities this holiday season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Perry Chamber Director Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio they had to get creative this season and organized a new Christmas decoration contest for businesses and residents to participate. Pasutti hopes this will be a promising avenue for everyone to spread the Christmas spirit throughout the City, “By shifting some sponsorships’ dollars of prizes that would have gone to parade floats, we’ve created this contest so that we can extend that throughout the town. In order to participate in the contest, we just ask people to take pictures, share them on Facebook, tag the Chamber page, and use the designated hashtag so that we see it. Then we’ll contact them as needed.”

The contest is open until Friday, December 18th. Residents and businesses may submit photos of their holiday lights and decorations by tagging @PerryAreaChamber and #PerryHolidayLights on Facebook or Instagram. Chamber bucks will be awarded to the winning business and resident.
