There are still many opportunities yet to make a family’s Christmas and upcoming year brighter in Guthrie County.

New Opportunities’ Giving Tree is displayed in the Guthrie Center City Hall lobby for the public to take a green card and purchase the items requested on it for the New Opportunities’ low-income clients in the County. There are around 100 families that use this program, but Coordinator Rhonda Huggins is confident that it will be a success, “I have no doubt because whenever I have needed help in this community and in this county the people have really stepped up. So I have no doubt that I’ll look out one of these days and that tree won’t have one card left on it, so I know that we have a very giving community and county here.”

Requested items range from bedding and clothing to toys, and Huggins asks that all items and tags be dropped off at her office at City Hall by December 2nd.
