A reminder that today Greene County residents are urged to support local businesses during Shop Small Business Saturday.
Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Board President Jamie Daubendiek stresses the need for everyone to shop locally, as the holiday season is one of the higher traffic times of the year for retailers.
“Just the importance of shopping locally. That’s the just biggest thing that we can educate the public on it. If we want these stores to stay here locally, we need to shop and spend our money here locally. Just the value of how much money gets returned locally when you do shop local is astounding versus going out of town.”
Many businesses will be open today from 10am-3pm, with several remaining open until 4pm.
