The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors approved an Iowa Department of Transportation funding agreement for a bridge replacement at their meeting Tuesday.

County Engineer Josh Sebern says the agreement is providing state funds for the project, though the DOT will have greater control over the project. The agreement is for a bridge replacement on County Road F25 east of Yale. The Board also approved a payroll change notice to hire former State Patrol Trooper Dana Tews as a part-time Sheriff’s Deputy. The Supervisors mentioned that this hire is presented to decrease the amount of overtime hours currently being used by the deputies. The Board also denied waiving delinquent taxes on a 3-2 vote for a property in the 200 block of West Grant Street in Casey due to lack of correspondence with the property owner.
