The Dallas County Board of Supervisors continued conversations on restructuring their compensation plan for County employees.

The Supervisors have been discussing the option of restructuring the compensation plan from an open-ended spectrum to a more consistent scale and range format. Depending on what scale the Supervisors could approve and how they implement it, the increased cost would range from $565,973 to $780,269 in additional salary expenses. The Supervisors didn’t take any action on the topic Tuesday but stated they would like to approve the plan during next week’s meeting.

Several representatives from the Iowa Department of Human Services updated the Supervisors on the number of Dallas County families receiving assistance benefits. The Supervisors approved the second and third readings to repeal chapters 51, 53, 54, 55, and 60 of their TIF and urban renewal ordinances. Other items approved by the Supervisors include purchasing a new deputy vehicle for the Sheriff’s Office, tax credit applications, and utility valuations.
