The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

Following a discussion, the Board approved hiring Maralie Ruth as Deputy Recorder. The Board talked about the procedure that was followed before they hired Ruth. Recorder Deb McDonald said there were 27 applications for the position, one of which was from another county department. McDonald agreed to recommend Ruth, who was working in the County Treasurer’s Office. County Treasurer Katlynn Mechaelsen was then asked to provide her plans for hiring another employee. Ruth will start as Deputy Recorder on December 7th with a salary of $47,123.

The Board then approved a $4,500 Louis Dreyfus funding request for the Friends of Rippey. The funding will be used for crushed tile to be installed on the warning track of the Rippey baseball field. Finally, the Board re-approved the Medical Examiner Investigator rates for off-duty investigations for Sheriff Jack Williams and Ambulance Director Michele Madsen. In a May Supervisors meeting the rate was stated as $100 per hour and it was corrected to $200 per hour, to be retroactive to January 1, 2020.
