In response to Governor Kim Reynolds’ latest COVID-19 proclamation requiring face masks in public spaces, the Panorama School District is now requiring masks for staff and students.
The District announced this week that masks are now required for all those in preschool through 12th grade, and all middle school extracurricular activities and sports are suspended until further notice, in accordance with the proclamation’s order that all sporting and recreational activities are prohibited except for high school, college, and professional sports. Panorama was the last district in Guthrie County to require face masks, as the West Central Valley, Adair-Casey, and Guthrie Center districts imposed requirements in recent weeks.
As of Tuesday, Panorama has 30 students in quarantine with eight students and one staff member currently testing positive for COVID-19. The Guthrie Center School District reported on Tuesday having 32 students quarantined and less than six staff members quarantined, with less than six testing positive of staff and students each in the high school and less than six elementary students testing positive. Adair-Casey updated Wednesday having 24 students quarantined, with less than six students testing positive in the elementary and junior high. West Central Valley’s dashboard showed Wednesday that 58 students are in quarantine with less than six staff members in each of the buildings testing positive and less than six students in Dexter Elementary, Redfield Middle School, and high school each testing positive.
