Today is National Rural Health Day and Greene County Medical Center supports rural communities and its populations.

As rural communities face challenges such as accessibility problems, shortages of healthcare services, and higher numbers of an aging population that has chronic conditions, the medical center continues to strive to provide needed services for all county and surrounding residents. However, the medical center, like other rural hospitals, also face challenges such as declining reimbursement rates and disproportionate funding levels which can make it difficult to serve the county’s communities.

Greene County Medical Center recognizes National Rural Health Day as an opportunity to “Celebrate Rural Strength” and know the spirit that small towns have where people know and listen to each other with respect.
