Todd Gordon is a veteran activities director and basketball coach. He’s in his second year as A.D. in the Greene County School District, but it’s his first as head girls’ basketball coach here. Like many things in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns, the Rams began practice last week, but now are not allowed to practice through Nov. 24 because the school district has gone to 100% virtual learning.

Coach Gordon talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about how the first week of practice went. “We had a good week! The girls worked hard. It may have been kind of an adjustment the way we run practice because of the pace we try to go at and the things we try and do. They took it all in and just embraced it and worked hard, and we’re really happy with the progress we made.”

About not practicing for more than a week, the coach added, “We know we have to take a little pause now, but great progress the first week and when we get back in a week or so, we’ll pick up where we left off.”

Greene County’s varsity basketball schedules have changed due to not being able to practice. The opening date is now set for Friday, Dec. 4 in the new high school gym in Jefferson vs. Roland-Story (Story City). Ram basketball can be heard this season on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
