COVID-19 has disrupted school schedules greatly in Iowa and around the U.S., and that includes winter activities. So far, the Paton-Churdan varsity basketball practices are taking place as scheduled, and the Rockets girl/boy basketball opener is still on for Tuesday, Dec. 1 in Westside vs. Ar-We-Va.

P-C Activities Director Pat Kruse talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about these uncertain times, realizing one phone call could change things. “We just have to roll with the flow. Our girls’ basketball team was supposed to be in a scrimmage last Saturday at Southeast Valley, but they had some cases up there, so that was cancelled.”

Not only will Kruse and other A.D.’s have winter weather to contend with in getting scheduled activities in, issues related to the current pandemic could complicate things further. The A.D. added, “We’ll do the best we can.”
