As several AC/GC cross country runners earned postseason honors, so did their leader.

Head Cross Country Coach Colin Shawgo was named At-Large Coach of the Year by IowaRunJumpThrow.com. Only six coaches for boys and six coaches for girls receive the honor with one coach earning State Coach of the Year in each classification. Shawgo was also the only coach in Class 1A to earn the honor for his work with both the boys and girls team.
