The annual Art on the Prarie festival in Perry begins today with a bit of a COVID-friendly twist.
As many events have had to adjust to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual art festival that typically brings more than 100 artists, musicians, poets, and authors to downtown Perry, had to evolve as well. One highlight of the virtual format is that folks will be able to participate starting today through November 30th, instead of being limited to one weekend. The event will have three components: a marketplace for shoppers to buy directly from local artists, community-supported art packages that bundle artwork from multiple artists available for purchase, and artist spotlights that will feature live-streamed and pre-recorded interviews, demonstrations, and musical performances.
You can hear more about the event on today’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program with Perry Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti. You can find a link to the event page here.
