Funeral services for Karen Mertz-McDowell, 81, of Perry, will be Wednesday, November 18th at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church in Perry.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 pm to 7 pm at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry.  Family will be present from 5 pm to 7 pm.  Burial will be Thursday at 10 am at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.  Memorials may be given to the Madrid High School Scholarship Fund and may be left at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at carrisfuneralhome.com.  Survivors include:  Children, Tom Mertz of Perry, Jim Mertz III of Polk City, Kim Mertz of Jersey City, New Jersey, Monte McDowell of Jamaica and Monica McDowell of Jamaica.  6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Brother, Colby Withers of Readlyn.
