The West Central Activities Conference has usually been able to provide non-stop entertainment year in and year out from a hoops standpoint on both the boys and girls side, and the 2020-21 season is not expected to be any different.

On the boys side, three WCAC teams competed in Substate, with one team in Woodward Granger, advancing to the State tournament. Last year Panorama was one of those teams knocking on the door of Des Moines. They’ll be missing their leading scorer and assister in Malachi Peasley as well as their leading rebounder in Michael Allen. They’ll look toward senior Zach Rizzuti who scored 11.3 points per game last season.

AC/GC has a tough hill to climb as they finished 5-11 in conference play last year. The Chargers are gaining momentum each year that passes as they set a school record last season with 10 wins. They’ll have some big shoes to fill as they’re going to miss their two leading scorers and rebounders in Bryce Littler and Quynton Younker who graduated last spring.

Practice is set to get under way Monday.
