Friday, November 6th
10:00am: Officers located a gas can in the roadway in the 400 Block of South Elm Street. The gas can be claimed at the LEC by the owner.
12:15pm: Thomas Stearns reported his brother had given a juvenile female a ride to an address in Waukee. He later learned the female was entered as a Missing Juvenile. The officer forwarded the information and address the female was dropped off at to Waukee PD.
1:33pm: Shannon Funcke requested an officer at the Jefferson Cemetery for a Civil Issue concerning a planting at a grave.
4:55pm: The Wild Rose casino reported finding a men’s wallet on the Gaming Floor. The wallet contained an Iowa ID and possible narcotics. The officer took possession of the wallet and is investigating.
5:48pm: Michael Coffman reported a Stray Cat that keeps coming on his property at 207 West Russell Street.
7:21pm: Karen Parker reported kids ringing her doorbell and running away at 606 South Maple Street.
Saturday, November 7th
4:34am: HyVee requested an officer at 106 West Washington Street for a male refusing to leave the business. The officer met with the male, who advised he did not feel well and wanted to go to the hospital. The officer transported the male to ER.
6:04am: ER requested the officer back at ER for the male in the previous entry. He refused treatment, but would not leave the facility. A Greene County Deputy transported the male to the Webster county line, as he was trying to get to Fort Dodge.
11:12am: A Traffic Stop at South Elm and 250 th Street resulted in Reese Garver of West Des Moines being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
2:02pm: The HyVee Fast & Fresh station reported a female had pumped $15.00 in fuel. She entered the store and attempted to pay for the purchase with an obvious forged check. The store refused to accept the check. She left and was supposed to return to pay for the fuel, but did not. The store provided her ID and a plate on her vehicle to the officer. The officer is investigating.
2:14pm: Lori Higgins reported her grandson was being threatened by a Jefferson male. The officer spoke to the grandson and learned it was a Civil Property Issue and the grandson did not want assistance from officers.
2:27pm: Jacque Mobley reported a large knife lying in the roadway on the overpass. The officers removed the knife and destroyed it.
7:14pm: Marinda Belnap spoke with an officer about a stolen Pitbull dog. She believed the dog was now located in Jefferson at 905 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer spoke to the occupant at the address and found no evidence of a dog being there. The officer later determined the situation to be Civil and advised Belnap to contact an attorney.
Sunday, November 8th
4:06am: An officer responded to Bomgaars, located at 205 West McKinley Street, for an Alarm Activation. The officer found the business to be secure when he arrived. A key holder arrived, and he and the officer entered the business. It was determined to be a false alarm.
6:56am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 500 Block of West Monroe Street for, “Parked Facing Wrong Direction.”
7:40am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 300 Block of West Monroe Street for, “Parked Across Sidewalk.”
8:30am: Carla Robinson reported an Open Door on a camper at 1903 North Mulberry Street. The officers found no damage to the camper and secured the door.
11:19am: A Traffic Stop in the 700 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Suanne Winters of Coon Rapids being cited for, “Operation Without Registration.”
1:34pm: A caller advised of a brush pile fire near the 200 Block of Briarwood Bend that was not being supervised and was out of control. Jefferson Fire was dispatched to the scene. A Jefferson Public Works employee was requested to bring the city’s end loader to assist in gaining control of the fire. Several houses were endangered by the flying embers from the fire, due to the extreme winds. Officers learned that a male subject had started the fire in the brush pile, which was actually located at 1506 Westwood Drive. The officer has requested an Arrest Warrant for Karl Maurice Krieger, 27 of Jefferson for, “Reckless Use of Fire – Serious.”
5:20pm: Danielle Hermansen reported a known male had come to 505 North Chestnut Street and threatened her boyfriend with a baseball bat. He had left the area. The boyfriend and Hermansen were not supportive of criminal charges, so the officer took no action.
9:36pm: Connie Heitl spoke to an officer about a Civil Property Issue occurring at 304 South Wilson, Apt. D.
9:19pm: A caller advised of yelling occurring at 505 North Grimmell Road. The officer arrived and found no one in the area.
