The Greene County High School football season has been over for 10 days, but two of the three teams that hung losses on Coach Caden Duncan’s team are still playing. Greene County went 7-3 this season, advancing to the Class 2A playoff round of 16. The Rams played just two teams in the regular season with winning records and three teams above .500 overall.
Two of the three, PCM (Monroe) in 2A and South Central Calhoun (Lake City) in 1A, are still playing and will be in the semifinals later this week inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. Atlantic was the other team that won vs. Greene County. Those three teams have a combined recorded of 27-3.
Greene County had just seven seniors on the team this season and most of the seven missed at least some playing time, meaning the Rams are likely to return a wealth of experience at the varsity level in 2021. Coach Duncan has a two-year head coaching record of 16-5, all at Greene County HS.
