Greene County New Opportunities recently completed an annual program for less unfortunate families to receive winter weather clothing.
Coordinator Teresa Lansman says about 90 Greene County children received winter coats through Operation Warm Hearts. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio, the families that took advantage of the winter coats program are the same ones from the beginning of the school year with their Back to School Supply Drive. Lansman talks about this year’s successful Warm Hearts program.
“We were very happy with how the turnout was this year. All of the families came and got the coats, and it went wonderfully this year.”
Lansman notes that there are additional coats in her office in Jefferson, which were donated by the Jefferson Rotary Club. She says children who weren’t registered for the program, or who need to change the size of a coat, to come to her office.
