The deadline to apply for the Perry Modernization and Protection Grant has been extended.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Chamber, Perry Economic Development, and the City of Perry decided to give businesses an extra couple of weeks to apply for this new grant. “Part of that is just hearing from those that we’re creating this program for, needing more time. With additional funding we’ve received recently, we knew that we had a significant pool available for funding, so (we’re) just allowing that extension, by just a couple of weeks, to give people more time.”

The Bock Family Foundation recently donated $7,000 to the program, which now has $43,000 worth of funding. Awards of $1,500 to $7,500 will be awarded to Perry businesses for projects that will help sustain their future or anything that will help modernize their infrastructure. Pasutti says other COVID-related grant programs are aimed at recuperating losses while this program is designed to encourage growth and adaptation to a fluid economy. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, November 18th. You can find a link to apply for the grant here or reach out to the Chamber by calling 515-465-4601. You can learn more about the grant program during Friday’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program with Pasutti.
