The unofficial results for Greene County have been released.
According to the Greene County Auditor’s Office, the Republican Party candidates dominated every elected office race. Locally, all the contested County Supervisor races were won by the Republican incumbents, including Mick Burkett in District 1, John Muir in District 4 and Pete Bardole in District 5, each won by at least 70-percent of the votes.
According to the Secretary of State’s Office, Iowa Senate District 24 was won by Republican Jesse Green, who defeated Democrat Cynthia Paschen with 65-percent of the votes, including a 70-percent margin in Greene County. Additionally, Iowa House District 47 Republican incumbent Phil Thompson defeated Democrat Shelly Stotts with 59-percent of the votes, including a 69-percent margin in Greene County.
Greene County voters chose Republican Randy Feenstra for the U.S. House Fourth Congressional District seat over Democrat J.D. Scholten with 61.33-percent of the votes. Feenstra also won the election with 61-percent in the 39-county district. President Donald Trump won Greene County and Iowa, as did Republican incumbent for U.S. Senate Joni Ernst.
The two local races that were not contested, County Auditor and Sheriff, went to the incumbents Jane Heun and Jack Williams, respectively. The results will be unofficial until the Greene County Supervisors canvass the votes at their regular meeting on Monday. Click the link below to see the full Greene County election results.
