A Perry woman was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to charges of sexual abuse and false imprisonment.
According to court documents, Anne Sinzobakwira was originally arrested for first-degree kidnapping, a Class A felony, and third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony. Sinzobakwira then pleaded guilty to amended charges of false imprisonment, a serious misdemeanor, and the original charge of third-degree sexual assault. She was sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison, 10 for the sexual abuse count and one for false imprisonment. A no-contact order was issued between Sinzobakwira and the victim until October 2025. She is also ordered to pay $820 in court costs and $250 in civil penalties.
On June 12th the Perry Police Department was notified of a missing 14-year-old boy. The next day authorities located the child in Sinzobakwira’s home. During the investigation, the juvenile told officers that Sinzobakwira appeared at his bedroom window and threatened to harm him if he didn’t do what she wanted.
