The Lakeside Village in Panora recently received another state grant to expand on their education opportunities for area residents.
The assisted living facility received a $150,000 Coronavirus Relief Fund Earn and Learn Grant through Governor Kim Reynolds’ Future Ready Iowa initiative. The Lakeside Village will be using this grant to support 23 individuals to address barriers to seeking postsecondary education including childcare and transportation, in addition to participating in an earn and lean model to earn credentials. This includes programs for certified nursing aides, medication management, ServSafe, and dietary manager certification. The Panora employer was initially awarded $96,800 from the Coronavirus Relief Fund Employer Innovation Fund Grant program in September to provide postsecondary training for Iowans whose employment has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. For information on how to participate in the free postsecondary training being offered, contact Manager Amanda Creen at 641-757-9993 or manager@thelakesidevillage.com.
