The 2020 high school football season is over for the Greene County Rams and the postseason honors have begun. Coaches from Class 2A District 9 have released their all-district selections and Coach Caden Duncan’s Rams are well represented, as is the coach. Coach Duncan and Atlantic’s Mike McDermott were named the Co-Coach’s of the Year in District 9. The Rams have seven players on the first team, seven on the second, and two on the honorable mention list.
Greene County went 7-3 this season, including 5-2 in the COVID-19 abbreviated regular season. They won six games in a row after starting 1-2, and advanced to the round of 16 in the playoffs.
First team all-district players on offense for the Rams include junior Bryce Stalder at quarterback. He was also named the Offensive MVP of District 9. Joining Stalder on offense are junior running back Nate Black, junior lineman Mason Stream, senior lineman Sawyer Schiltz, and senior wide receiver Jaxon Warnke. Junior Jackson Morton made the first team as a utility player and junior Bradyn Smith was a first team linebacker.
Greene County players on the second team are senior Zach Goff at wide receiver, senior offensive lineman Forest Thompson, sophomore brothers Patrick Daugherty at linebacker and Richard Daugherty at defensive back, junior defensive back Max Riley, sophomore defensive end Jesse Miller, and freshman defensive lineman Michael Rumley.
Senior offensive lineman Kadrick Kinne and freshman kicker Nathan Behne were on the honorable mention list.
