Final Greene County volleyball statistics for the 2020 season have been posted. Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s team lost more matches than it won, but did win its first postseason match, marking the first time in recent years that happened. The Rams lost in the semifinals of Class 3A Region 2 play to Humboldt, and the Wildcats will be playing in the State Tournament in Cedar Rapids this week.
Seniors Brianna Osterson and Lily Muir led the team in kills with 245 and 140, respectively. Osterson’s kill efficiency rating of .283 also led the team by a wide margin. Muir led the team with 144 digs and Osterson was second with 126. Last week, Osterson was named to the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference first all-conference team and Muir was on the second team.
Sophomores Bella Schroeder and Natalie Heupel were on the HOIAC honorable mention list. Schroeder led the Rams in total blocks with 32 while Heupel, the setter, led in assists, at 343.
The team serving percentage was 89.4% with most of the Rams with 50 or more attempts equaling or succeeding the team percentage. Those players and their serving percentages are sophomore Analynn Baugh (90.5), Muir (89.5), sophomore Katrina Heupel (90.1), Natalie Heupel (92.1), sophomore Emma Hoyle (87.6), and senior Eliza Carlson 90.8).
