Dallas Center – Grimes boys and girls cross country teams competed in Fort Dodge on Friday for the state cross country, with the boys accomplishing the back-to-back state championships with a fantastic effort, and the girls having a great meet as well getting second as a team in the 3A race.

The DCG boys were able to have a dominating race with a team score of 87, which was 48 points in front of their second place competitor. The Mustangs were able to get a great team results from their star runner Aiden Ramsey, with the junior able to have a solid overall 3rd place finish with a time of 16 minutes and 5 seconds. Ramsey was able to get into his grove early on, and hang on for a top three performance, another top tier result for the talented junior.

The rest of the runners included junior Jacob Ewers who finished 11th with a time of 16 minutes and 47 seconds, freshmen Jack Every who finished 21st with a time of 17 minutes and 8 seconds, freshmen Tate McDermott, who got 23rd with a time of 17 minutes and 10 seconds, and junior Jacob Storey finishing 30th with a time of 17 minutes and 19 seconds.

On the girls side, they were led by sophomore Kami Smith who got 11th with a time of 19 minutes and 26 seconds, and senior Megan Sterbenz, who got 12th with a time of 19 minutes and 26 seconds. Miranda Mulhstien got 16th with a time of 20 minutes and 2 seconds, Hannah Little got 25th with a time of 20 minutes and 19 seconds, and Meredith McDermott who got 32nd with a time of 20 minutes and 29 seconds.
