A reminder that this weekend Daylight Saving Time ends, which means clocks will need to be turned back one hour.
The time change happens at 2am this Sunday, when clocks will be turned back by one hour, to signify less daylight time in the late fall and winter months in Iowa. Jefferson Fire Chief Jack Williams reminds everyone of another household item in your home to do maintenance on.
“Keep in mind when you turn back your clocks, it’s also a good time to replace batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Anything that needs batteries changed, that is the time to do it when you turn back the clocks.”
Additionally, anything that isn’t a smart device, like vehicle clocks, refrigerators, microwaves or wall clocks will need to be changed manually.
