Jason Sheldahl
A Scranton man was recently sentenced for a May incident.
According to court documents, 49-year-old Jason Sheldahl pled guilty to an amended charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for his second offense for domestic abuse assault. Sheldahl had all but ten days of a 180-day jail sentence suspended, with credit given for time already served. The sentence was to run consecutively with three other cases, two for violating a protective order and one for violating probation from a previous domestic abuse assault case. Sheldahl was to serve a total of 52 days in the Greene County Jail. He will then be placed on probation for two years.
The conviction of the aggravated misdemeanor stemmed from an incident on May 30th in Scranton. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office investigated a domestic situation in the 900 block of Main Street. A physical altercation took place between Sheldahl and 45-year-old Tanisha Rice, who was under a protective order against Sheldahl.
Sheldahl was also ordered to pay over $1,000 in surcharges, court-appointed attorney fees and court costs. Court documents show Sheldahl was originally charged with a felony for his third or subsequent offense for domestic abuse assault.
