The deadline for Perry businesses to apply for a new grant program is approaching.

Businesses serving Perry have until Saturday to apply for the new Perry Modernization and Protection Grant. The Perry Chamber of Commerce, Perry Economic Development, and the City of Perry have developed the grant in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, what sets this program apart from other COVID-19 related grants is that it focuses more on projects that contribute to sustainability and modernizing their business to operate in a new environment. Perry Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti says the range for recipients is relatively wide to maximize the grant’s potential and can be retroactive to cover previous expenses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Potential awards range from $1,500 to $7,500.
