The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.

The Council approved hiring Bohden Bigler as a police officer, with a salary of $44,821. The Council then approved the appointment of David Morain as the new city attorney, effective January 1st to succeed the impending retirement of the current city attorney, Bob Schwartkopf. Additionally, the Council approved a professional services agreement with Bolton and Menk for several alley reconstruction projects including by the White House Apartments, the Companion Veterinary Clinic of Greene County and the Jefferson Post Office for $16,500 and a $31,500 proposal from Bolton and Menk to conduct the initial steps for a West Lincoln Way Corridor study from Highway 4 to Grimmell Road.

Next, the Council set November 24th at 5:30pm as the public hearing date for the plans, specifications and awarding a contract for construction of the Greene County Animal Facility. The Council then approved $32,928 from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program to Region XII Council of Governments for various improvements to the four housing units that they installed on North Cedar and East Clark streets. The Council also approved two professional architectural service agreements with the Franks Design Group for work that was done this past February of $19,229 for the former Pizza Ranch building and $11,907 for the former Air Temp building on the downtown square.
