Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers sophomore runner Geneva Timmerman has been able to put up an outstanding sophomore campaign, and looks to put on a nice little bow on the year with the state race in Fort Dodge on Friday.
After a good freshman campaign that saw her advance to state, she has made some massive strides that have made her one of the best in the state.
Timmerman is coming off of a first place finish in districts at Winterset, as she put together a tremendous race that saw her a time of 18 minutes and 15 seconds, which is her fastest time of the season and one of the best times and races that she has ran in her career. The mark was a minutes and nine seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher, a truly remarkable effort.
Timmerman has been able to keep getting better throughout the season, running a time of 19 minutes and 47 seconds in her first meet of the season in Urbandale, as she has ran every race this year under the twenty minute mark. The dominance has helped her be ranked 6th in the state of Iowa in class 3A according to iowarunjumpthrow.com as of Tuesday, with three runners ahead of her being in the Raccoon River Conference.
Timmerman has been a great runner all year for this Tiger team, and will be looking for one more great performance this Friday.
