Perry Community Schools unveiled their new industrial technology/automotive workshop and wrestling room during an open house Monday.

This is the first time the public had an opportunity to view the results of the multi-million dollar project. Perry Superintendent Clark Wicks tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he’s excited about how they turned out, “It’s always fulfilling because you talk a lot about plans and drawings. There’s many bumps in the road along this journey, but it’s always worth it to see something like this. It just continues to build on that Perry pride, which is what it’s all about. I think a lot of people are pleased with it, and I am too.”

Wicks adds there’s still some cosmetic items and furniture they’re waiting for, but the new spaces are already making a difference. Funding for the work is from a $6.5 million bond referendum that was passed in February.
