One man was flown to the hospital with gunshot wounds following an incident in Woodward Wednesday morning.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office just before 7 a.m. Wednesday, dispatch received a call from 45-year-old Steven Caldwell of Woodward stating he had just shot someone entering his home. As a result, 45-year-old Scott Hansen was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines with gunshot wounds to his torso. A firearm has been recovered, and there is no known danger to the community. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation are in charge of the investigation, which is ongoing at this time.
