One person has died after a semi-truck collision that occurred in Adair County Monday.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, at about 4:50 p.m. 59-year-old David Passehl of Anita was driving a Ford F250 truck north on Fontanelle Road near 270th Street when, for unknown reasons, he crossed into the southbound lane. His vehicle collided head on with a semi- truck driven by 66-year-old Phillip Lundy of Orient. Both vehicles then came to rest on Fontanelle Road, which was closed between 270th and 280th streets during the investigation.
Passehl died on scene and was transported by Greenfield Rescue to Steen Funeral Home, and Lundy was transported by Fontanelle Rescue to the Adair County Health System for treatment of injuries. The Adair County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene, and the investigation remains ongoing at this time. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
