Panorama Panther football was mere yards away from taking the lead when a fumble in the last couple of minutes of the game was the third and deciding turnover the second, as the Panthers 4th quarter fell short, losing to Pella Christian 21-19. Quarterback Domonic Walker was solid all night for the Panthers, but on his first and goal rush, a great play by a Eagle defender punched the ball away and went in the end zone, where they recovered it.
Pella Christian led by the score of 7-6 at the end of the first half, after both teams scored early and midway through the first, defenses had control in the second quarter, as both teams struggled to move the ball, and the weather not helping either with major wind gusts. In the second half, Pella Christian scored a pair of touchdowns, including one off of a Panther turnover and the other on a semi-short field to take a 21-6 early in the fourth.
The Panthers would come back, first using a trick play on the ensuing kickoff that got them into the red zone. A few plays later Domonic Walker would find Preston Walker to make 21-12 after the failed 2 points conversion. Next drive they would score again as Walker found Evan Taylor to make it 21-19. After a stop the next drive the Panthers drove down to the 10 to set up the potential lead and win before the turnover.
Panorama played their tales off in the game including great defensive performances from a lot of players including Zach Rizzuti, Hunter Pauley, and Trent Hambleton, with Hambleton playing some great football and disrupting Eagle plays in the backfield.
The Panthers end the season with a 6-3 while Pella Christian moves on with a 6-3 record.
The Panthers will be saying goodbye to 14 seniors on the roster, including 9 on the offensive end and 8 on the defensive end, and though they have a lot of younger players that have talent, they will miss a lot of these guys, who were great on and off the field.
